We started our missionary work in the Prelature of Nayar in 1970 by running the boarding school of Santa Clara, Jalisco, where we continue to provide Catholic education to native Huichol boys and girls to this day. In an attempt to contribute to the integral growth of the native communities, we support them with carpentry work which addresses their most urgent needs.
Three Sisters were sent in 1972 to the Parish of Jesús María el Nayar, a native Cora and mestizo village, where they stayed for 11 years, working in the basic religious education and the parish pastoral.
We founded our Novitiate in 1977 in the village of Huaynamota, Nayarit. We built a small house using local materials: adobe, wood and roof tiles. We also collaborate in the parish pastoral of this native Huichol and mestizo village.
In October 1977, Bishop Romero entrusted us with the parish of San Juan Peyotán, Nayarit, where we have served the Cora, Huichol and mestizo people for over twenty years.
Pursuing a health pastoral and striving to provide comprehensive services, we have established a small medical dispensary in 1983 at the Huichol Ceremonial Center in the community of San Andrés Cohamiata, Jalisco.
The native Huicholes receive first level medical consultation, hospitalization, meals and transportation to the city of Tepic, when necessary.
