This morning, the 9th of October 2005 in the Parish Church of the Friars Minor of St. Savior’s in Jerusalem, five Franciscan brothers took their solemn vows of obedience, poverty and chastity in the hands of the Custodian of the Holy Land Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

At the celebration a large number of the faithful took part because two of the five are members of the Roman Catholic Parish in Jerusalem.
All the five newly solemn-professed come from the Holy Land: Brothers Usama Bahbah and Jad Sara from Jerusalem, Brother Zaher Aboud from Galilee, Brothers Rami Asakriyeh and Shadi Bader from Jordan.

The Holy Mass was celebrated in Arabic, the mother language of the newly professed and in Italian, the official language of the Custody of the Holy Land.
Following the celebration refreshments were served in Immacolata Hall at St. Savior’s Monastery.
