GIVE US BACK ELECTRICITY AND WATER

The Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land, after days of useless appeals to the Israeli Government, launches an urgent appeal to the Jewish communities in Israel and around the world so that they call on the Israeli Army to give back electricity and water to the Franciscans at their Friary of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

The Friars Minor recall their traditional friendship with their Jewish "Elder Brothers" and of the acknowledged heroism of the Friars who risked their lives to save the lives of the Jews of the Shoah.

We are not your adversaries, we are not part of the conflict which is under way. We ask you in the name of the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob: "Have pity, give us back electricity and water".
