Jerusalem, Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 Prot. B-0210/05 To all the Friars of the Custody Dear Brothers, Habemus Papam! Today, Tuesday, April 19th, 2005, the Church rejoices at the election of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Joseph RATZINGER, who took the name of BENEDICT XVI as Pope. Our joy in this moment unites us to that of all Christians and to all people of good will and becomes a thanksgiving to God, who made Himself man in Jesus of Nazareth, and who today gives us the 265th successor of the Apostle Peter of Capernaum to whom His Church is entrusted. From this Holy Land we raise up to God our devout prayer so that the newly elected Roman Pontiff may guide Peter's bark (the Church) in the docile reception of the breath of the Holy Spirit.
