MAIN INFORMATION
Since 1973 the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land has sponsored the
Christian Information Centre in Jerusalem, opposite the Tower of David near Jaffa Gate. The aim is to
provide information on Christianity and on the Holy Land (holy places, churches, liturgies,
religious and cultural life, activities, etc.)
This important, wide-ranging
initiative, is designed to offer a service, indispensable in a city like Jerusalem, for
those wishing to learn as much as possible about Christianity in the Holy
Land and the Holy Land in relation to Christianity.
The Centre operates, in its modest space, on three fronts:
Establishing an information service giving immediate advice to pilgrims and
residents, with a competent, available, permanent staff.
Supplying the mass media, writers, scholars and religious communities with
news concerning the various religious, scientific or cultural events or simply Christian life in
the Holy Land.
Placing its rooms at the disposal of the various Churches, for ecumenical meetings, personal contacts
or other religious and cultural events.
The Centre publishes and distributes internationally the "Associated Christian
Press Bulletin" by subscription.
The Centre is also open for exhibitions, conferences, prayer meetings with
Christians of all denominations taking part, press conferences, interviews and other activities of this
kind by appointment.
